  Adding the other known fact that the Micro 4/3 segment is getting more aggressive is obvious that the "compact camera" segment is doomed, in a year or two the average "snapshoter" will only take photos using their cellphone. Only niche cameras may survive, like the the high-end and pro oriented compact cameras (Canon G11, Panasonic LX5, Nikon P700 and alike).
